WG4 LEARNING TRACK
DAY 2 27th June 2016
09:00 – 10:30 – Introduction to Image recognition – Trainer : Antonio Pinheiro
Brief outline:
- Filtering and Morphology
- Image Segmentation and Classification
- Texture Definition and Perception
10:45 – 12:15 – Texture Analysis Methods – Trainer : Antonio Pinheiro
Brief outline:
Multi-scale and Statistical Models
Texture segmentation and classification: application to muscle MRI
13:15 – 14:45 – Introduction to Mazda – Dick Lerski
Brief outline: MaZda is a software package that runs on PCs. It was developed mainly by Polish partners in previous COST Actions (B11 and B21). It allows the calculation of texture parameters from regions of interest defined in images and subsequent analysis of the most useful parameters in classification problems. A full description and demonstration will be presented of the facilities and modes of operation of MaZda as applied to the analysis of MRI muscle images
15:00 – 16:30 – Training Session – Trainer : Dick Lerski
Brief outline: A series of exercises will be carried by students attending this session to develop a full familiarity with MaZda. Test images and MRI images will be used. At the end of the session, students will have the ability to use MaZda to analyse and assess texture results in MRI muscle images.
DAY 3 28th June 2017
09:00 – 16 :30 – Full day training session on texture analysis with MATLAB – Trainer : Antonio Pinheiro
Image classification and image segmentation. Please note that students would be required to have their own computer with Matlab installed.
