WG 1 LEARNING TRACK – MODULE OVERVIEW

Day 2                     27th June 2017

Four sessions focusing on technical-anatomy and pediatric disorders

09:00 – 10:30 Anatomy -scoring – Techniques (protocols hereditary disorders, inflammation/edema) – Trainer: Robert Carlier (assisted by Susana Quijano-Roy)

Brief outline : The module is a practical session to be able to identify the main muscles in the body using WBMRI, the technical approach, scoring and interpretation of images

10:45 – 12:15 – Early onset myopathies on  WBMRI (patterns by pathology) – Trainer: Susana Quijano-Roy (assisted by Robert Carlier)

Brief outline : This module is devoted to describe the most important features of whole body MRI in different congenital muscular dystrophies and myopathies.

13:15 – 14:45 – Diagnostic approach by phenotypes in early onset neuromuscular disorders (rigid spine syndrome, hyperlaxity, arthrogryposis) – Trainer: Susana Quijano-Roy (assisted by Robert Carlier)

15:00 – 16:30 – Learning to read WBMRI & building graphical representations for scorings (heatmaps) – Trainer: David Gomez (assisted by Susana Quijano-Roy)                

 

Day 3                     28th June 2017

Four sessions focusing on late onset disorders

09:00 – 10:30 and 10:45-12:15 – Muscle MRI in muscular dystrophies (adult/late-onset) Trainer: Jordi Díaz-Manera Brief outline: This module will cover the topic of muscle involvement and pattern recognition  in: FSHD, OPMD, Dystrophinopathies,  Dominant and recessive LGMDs, EDMD

 

13:15 – 14:45 and 15:00 – 16:30 – Muscle MRI in non dystrophic myopathies Trainer : Montse Olivé/Giorgio Tasca Brief outline: The module will describe features on muscle MRI of distal myopathies, MFM (including titin HMERF), inflammatory myopathies (including IBM), and Pompe Myopathy
